Ron Greeno, M.D.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Greeno is co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Cogent Healthcare and Senior Consultant for our consulting arm, The Cogent Group. He is responsible for developing and managing our national network of hospitalists and the medical management approach used by Cogent.
A nationally recognized author and speaker on clinical and administrative management of hospitalist programs, Dr. Greeno is a past recipient of the Society of Hospital Medicine’s annual award for Outstanding Service in Hospital Medicine. In both 2006 and 2007, Modern Healthcare named Dr. Greeno to its list of the 50 Most Powerful Physician Executives in Healthcare. He is the only hospitalist ever to make the list.
Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care, Dr. Greeno formerly served as Co-Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit and Co-Director of Respiratory Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles. He graduated with distinction and Alpha Omega Alpha from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, fellowships in critical care and pulmonary medicine at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and a research fellowship in immunology and cellular physiology at Rockefeller University in New York.
