Anna-Gene O'Neal
VP, Quality & Performance Improvement
Ms. O’Neal is Cogent’s first Vice President for Quality. In this crucial role, she focuses on improving quality and patient safety from both clinical and technological perspectives. She also interacts with hospital partners to develop Cogent products and services that meet their specific goals and coaches those facilities on strategies for process improvement.
Ms. O’Neal joined Cogent after more than 15 years of clinical experience as a nurse and an extensive background in quality improvement. Most recently, she served as President and CEO of O2 Strategies, a consulting company with an emphasis on clinical information solutions, data analysis and development of decision support tools. Prior to that, Ms. O’Neal worked at hospital operator Essent Healthcare, where she was Vice President of Clinical Operations.
Ms. O’Neal earned an MBA from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She also received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt.
